Coming Back From an Injury

When it comes to rehabbing injuries patience and persistence are key to recovery. Platelets and general population people need to remember that when it comes to rehab there will be many bumps in the road. There will be success followed by failures. However having a plan and milestones is key to getting the best results.

Planning

Creating a plan that takes into account where the individual is is key. If you have shoulder surgery you can start a leg program, working in that area until you have the all clear from surgeons to start a shoulder rehab program usually based on inflammation. if it was an ACL maybe some upper body workouts to keep blood flow. The key is to make a plan. Once you have your plan try to set milestones that fit the plan.

Milestones

Setting a milestone will allow you to see if your plan has been effective and what next steps will need to be taken. The thing to remember is that these milestones will not always happen when you want them to. There maybe setbacks, but having a milestone to work towards and say here you have reached this point it is now time to move to the next phase will help maximize results and give a sense of accomplishment. These milestones may start small and build until you are back at competition. Determining them however will require some thought to what your goals are, where you are starting and how much time you have. This is where planning is key, to sit down and write things out will help you get to where you need to go.

When it comes to your rehab be patient but also have a vision and a plan. Going at it all over the place will just lead to a scatter shot recovery that may or may not get you where you need to go.
